Early Learning Centers

Our Y’s early learning programs are operated on an experiential learning philosophy: children learn while doing. Daily lessons, based on a nationally recognized and creative curriculum, are created to boost development through age-appropriate activities, and stimulating hands-on experiences, with a balance of teacher directed versus child directed play. Quiet time is included every day, along with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack (at no additional charge). Meals are provided under the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

All Early Learning Centers are fully certified by the Department of Public Welfare and the Commonwealth of PA. Our qualified and well-trained staff provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work to help your family succeed.

  • Our Early Learning Centers are open from 6:00am-6:00pm, Monday – Friday
  • Full- and Part-Time options are available.
  • Children must be enrolled a minimum of two days per week.

School Age Enrichment

The time before and after school can be empty and lonely for kids, or they can be creative and constructive. The Y’s School Age Enrichment program provides children in Kindergarten through the 6th grade the chance to express their talents in the arts, sports, and other areas of interest. Kids find out what success is all about in an approach that says everybody plays, everybody wins. It’s a safe place for kids to hang out and have fun while learning outside the classroom.

School Age Enrichment offers a combination of child-choice and teacher-directed activities, with a curriculum that includes homework support, literacy programs, fitness activities, recreational games and art projects (also included is an afternoon snack or hot meal). All teachers have degrees and/or are certified, and through the use of carefully planned programs, children are helped to achieve their fullest potential in terms of mental development, physical well-being and social growth. All sites are Keystone STARS Level 1 or 2.

Keystone STARS

Keystone STARS (Standards, Training/Professional Development, Assistance, Resources, and Supports) is a quality rating system that promotes quality improvement in early learning and development programs and school-age child care. A Keystone STARS designation informs parents that their children are in a safe, respectful environment in which they are learning new things every day to support their current and future successes in school and in life.
