Welcome to the Valley Points Family YMCA

In one way or another, we're all connected to the Y. Whether it's where you discovered a talent that became a lifelong passion, were encouraged by a mentor, or where you turn for support with a healthy lifestyle.

At the Valley Points Family YMCA, we believe our programming lays the groundwork for healthy futures, builds a sense of community, and conveys the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Yes, children learn to swim, kids have somewhere to go after school and we teach about healthy lifestyles, but the Y is far more than that. The Y is a place where kids find direction, families come together and people rally to make a difference.

With a commitment to nurturing youth development, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that people of all ages and from all walks of life have access to the essentials needed to be more healthy, confident, connected and secure.

Message from the CEO

These are unprecedented times for our families, our communities and also for the Y.  We celebrated a wonderful year in 2019 with the official merger of the Valley Points Family YMCA and the Allegheny Valley YMCA on January 1, 2019 - but 2020 has had its challenges to say the least.  The COVID-19 crisis has made it necessary to practice patience, diligence and proceed with care and caution as an organization. I have always believed that our people are our most treasured asset, and the Pandemic required difficult, but necessary decisions to ensure the safety of all of you - our members, our staff and our volunteers.

I am humbled by the ongoing support from you all as our team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to effectively rebuild what the Y looks like seemingly overnight.  In addition to immediately replacing in-person programming with a variety of online offerings, our staff has worked closely together to rethink and reimagine a Y that would be safe upon your return and provide the level of service you have come to expect.  If you had to make the difficult decision to stop your membership, I hope that when the day comes that you are comfortable to return that we see you in our buildings again very soon.  Please know that regardless of your status of active or on hold, we know you and care for you as a Member of our Y!

As I stated in communications throughout the facility closure, the mission of the Y is still very much at work in our community.  Services provided by the Y are not just programs that are appreciated by our members, but to many they are essential to their well-being or the overall strength and success of their family.  For everyone that supports our mission through membership, donation or advocacy - you are investing in the impact that our Y has on your neighbors.  Thank you for believing in the Y's ability to make that impact, and we hope we continue to meet and exceed those expectations for generations to come.
